Скоромовки не тільки допомагають дітям здобути навички вимови на перший погляд схожих одне на одного англійських слів, не тільки знайомлять дітей з новими словами, але й виконують велику психологічну задачу: допомагають учням пересилити самих себе у швидкій усвідомленій вимові довгих англійських речень.

Римування дають можливість відпрацювати не лише кожний окремий звук, але й вимову його в різних сполученнях. Паралельно йде засвоєння правильної інтонації з необхідними паузами та чергуванням низхідних та висхідних тонів. А в цілому, римування англійською – це засіб активізації та налаштування учнів на роботу , оскільки вони допомагають зняти напругу та скутість.

- Ви коли – небудь грали в «літачок»? Напевно, ви розправляли руки, немов крила, злегка нахилялися вперед – і ось ви вже летите. Маленькі англійці теж люблять грати в цю гру. Але замість звука [ ж ] вони вимовляють звук [v]. Да-вайте пограємо в «англійський літачок»:
